Tutor Led Ride Out – Sunday August 8th
August 8 @ 10:00 am - 3:30 pm
Gemma will be leading this tutor led ride out
Brace yourself, this ride out will be a full day’s work, but we will take in some of the best roads out west that haven’t been on a ride out now for a number of years. The pace will be progressive so bring your best overtaking skills so those caravans don’t spoil our day.
Meeting at the Starbucks, Westbound A303 for 9:30AM sharp departure. https://goo.gl/maps/hyEk1F1JhE1LqVVe7
We will ease ourselves in with a blast down the A303 so far as Wincanton, where we depart the boring roads and pickup the A371 though Castle Cary with great bends and a national speed limit. After about 30 miles we’ll turn off towards Cheddar Gorge and our first stop of the day for bike and person fuel at around 11AM.

From Cheddar we will skirt round the M5 and Bridgewater and head west to Dunster, from Dunster we swing southwards on the A396 into the Exe Valley and our lunch stop at The Exeter Inn for 1:30PM.
Departing lunch we are on the way home now and we will take a short hop down the M5 to join the A30 towards Yeovil, then Shaftsbury for our afternoon fuel stop. From Shaftsbury we will take a quick detour and go up ZigZag Hill and Tollard Royal on the way past Salisbury to rejoin the A303 this time eastbound. The final point on the ride is the Petrol station on the eastbound 303 after Andover and before the A34 junction.
Total distance: 272 miles.
Riding Time: ~6 hours.
