DESCRIPTION:National Highways Traffic Officers – Guest Presentation \nTuesday 17th March – 7:30pm\nSherfield on Loddon Village Hall (near A33\, 5 miles before Basingstoke towards the M3)\nHall open from 7:00pm \nWe are delighted to welcome representatives from National Highways for a 45-minute presentation to RoSPA RoADAR Thames Valley Group. \nThis promises to be a fascinating insight into: \n    What National Highways actually does on the Strategic Road Network\n    What it does not do (and how it differs from the police and local authorities)\n    The legal powers of Traffic Officers\n    How incidents are managed on motorways and major A-roads\n    Red-X compliance\, lane closures and live carriageway safety\n    Real-world operational experiences — including some interesting (and possibly humorous) stories from the network \nAs advanced drivers and riders\, we regularly use the strategic road network and benefit from understanding the systems\, procedures and safety measures that operate behind the scenes. \nThis is an excellent opportunity to deepen our knowledge\, ask informed questions\, and gain operational insight that directly enhances our own roadcraft and hazard awareness. \nWe encourage strong attendance — this is exactly the sort of professional engagement that strengthens our understanding and improves our standards. \n Present

DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce the return of the Group’s popular annual skid pan event. \nThe course will be run on the skid pan at Thruxton Circuit https://thruxtonracing.co.uk/skidpan.They have a selection of front and rear wheel drive cars\, which allow you to experience how to correct and control a sliding car. Their skid pan is a polished concrete surface\, which uses water and no chemicals. \nHere is a video\, to give you a taster of what to expect onthe day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irz5TkpPJpY \nWe have secured two dates for the course\, Sunday 9th November and Saturday 15th November. The session will commence at 10am on both days and last for approximately 1 hour.
