SPRING OUTING INTO SCENIC HAMPSHIRE
Meet at 10.00 for coffee at, DEPARTURE LOUNGE CAFÉ, ALTON,

After morning coffee we will depart at 10.30.
The routes, that will be provided when you register, are on Google Maps to download onto your phone AND ON Garmin for bikes to help with navigation. A printed copy will also be provided on the day.
The outward route will be 55 miles with lovely scenic views with some single track. We will drive up Old Winchester Hill, by the Iron Age Hill Fort and the Bronze Age Cemetery onto the South Downs to Portsdown Hill viewpoint where we will pause for 5 mins for the magnificent views over Portsmouth with its Spinnaker Tower and beyond over the Solent to the IOW.

The restaurant has pleasant views across the Marina with its luxury motor yachts and sailing boats. `Lively Lady` Sir Alec Rose’s historic boat in which he circumnavigated the globe solo some 60 years ago is also moored in the Marina.
Sunday roast, Chicken or Pork is £9.95. Add Choc Brownie for £3.00.
After lunch the 20 mile route homewards will include some interesting single track roads over Portsdown Hill with wonderful views and past the 120 ft high memorial to Lord Nelson’s and on to finish near the Meon Hut at the junction of the A32 and the A272 from where you can make your own way home.
